Use of mobile phones in doing business


Use of cell phones / mobiles has become one of the most effective methods in doing business today. In context of Bangladesh, it has greatly enhanced activities and interactions of both organizations and customers. This method has consequently contributed in the easiness of communication and information dissemination.

With the advancement of mobile technology, mobile marketing has been simplified further. People now easily get access to immediate information and data through their mobiles. Sending information via SMS or email has also become popular. Because of these, SMS marketing has now become one of the major advertising tools for companies. The trend has started in Bangladesh but the text send by companies are yet to cut the conventional barrier.

Mobile videos clearly represent any messages in visual platforms, which most customers find very interactive and interesting over text messages. This trend is yet to start in Bangladesh.

·    Mobile Money Transfers – This method is used for people’s convenience to transfer money in various currencies via their mobile phones. The trend is now massively used by people worldwide and also by those companies that accept mobile payments. The idea of mobile money transfers does not only provide convenience on the people but also beneficial in those places where banks are limited. bKash is an example to this. It has become quite popular in Bangladesh. More companies are planning to launch such service in near future.

·       Local Mobile Advertising – In Bangladesh, a growing number of household people are accessing the Internet these days. They use Internet not only for online shopping of products but also as their main source of immediate information exchange. It is predicted that in the coming years, newspapers and other similar paper journals will no longer be needed as far as information conveyance is concerned. Then, more Bangladeshi companies will give ad on mobiles.

The launch of mobile marketing solutions had made many countries achieved their economic growth. Combined with online advertisements many countries, especially the U.S., have projected that in five years’ time online advertising business will elevate at its highest percentage. Bangladeshi is not falling behind in this regard.
