Growth obstacles

Like any other countries, Bangladesh faces several growth obstacles. The major growth obstacles include cyclones and floods, mismanaged port facilities, inefficient state owned enterprises, a large work force with outpaced jobs, using energy resources inefficiently, lack of power supply, corruption and political instability. The World Bank commented, "among Bangladesh's most significant obstacles to growth are poor governance and weak public institutions." According to World Bank reports and data, Bangladesh managed to achieve a 5% annual growth on average since 1990.
